1. Nature of Service

Deadly Deals Energy acts as an intermediary, helping individual and commercial customers find the best rates and plans for electricity and gas services by comparing offers from different suppliers. This service, referred to as ‘the service,’ is designed to assist customers in making informed choices about their energy providers.

2. Right to Cancel Anytime

Customers have the right to cancel our service at any time by providing written notice. Cancellations can be submitted via:
– Post: Send to Deadly Deals Energy, Apt Baurisheen, Oughterard, Co Galway, H91 Y9N3.
– Email: Send from the registered email address associated with the Deadly Deals Energy account to support@deadlydeals.ie.
Confirmation of cancellation will be sent once the request is processed.
Note: Cancelling our service does not cancel any existing contracts with electricity or gas suppliers, as these are governed by the specific Terms and Conditions of each supplier.

3. No Charge Policy

Deadly Deals Energy does not charge customers for using our service. We are committed to keeping our services free for our customers now and in the future.

4. Data Safety & GDPR Policy

Deadly Deals Energy prioritizes safeguarding your personal data in compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws. We employ robust technical and organizational security measures to protect against unauthorized access, accidental loss, or damage to personal data.
We ensure personal data is collected, stored, and processed transparently, with customers fully informed of their rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to data processing. Additionally, customers are not subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling.

5. Compliance with CRU Regulations and Customer Information Transparency

Deadly Deals Energy adheres to all guidelines set by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) in Ireland, ensuring our services meet the highest regulatory standards. We are committed to customer transparency and professionalism as outlined below:

1. Explanation of the Energy Offer: Sales agents provide a clear description of the energy product or service, including its features and benefits.
2. Disclosure of Charges: All charges, including unit rates, standing charges, and any additional fees, are disclosed to customers.
3. Provision of Energy Rates: Customers receive applicable energy rates for complete transparency.
4. Discount Information: Agents explain any discounts and how they will apply to the customer’s bill.
5. Billing Methods: Billing options, both paper and electronic, are clearly communicated.
6. Online Billing Discounts: Eligibility for online billing discounts is outlined to ensure customers understand potential savings.
7. Payment Options: Customers are informed about payment methods such as direct debit or Level Pay.
8. Deposit Requirements: Deposit requirements, if applicable, are explained, including amount and conditions.
9. Contract Duration: Information about contract length and specific terms is provided.
10. Early Termination Fees: Any fees for early contract termination are disclosed.
11. Cooling-Off Period: Customers are informed about their right to cancel within the cooling-off period.
12. Terms and Conditions of Supply: Full Terms and Conditions of supply are provided with explanations on delivery.
13. Vulnerable Customer Registration: Customers are informed about the process of registering as a vulnerable customer if applicable.
14. Switching Charges: Any potential charges for switching from another supplier are discussed.
15. Customer Charter and Codes of Practice: Information on customer rights and company standards is provided.
16. Professional Conduct: Agents are required to act with politeness and professionalism at all times.
17. Authority Confirmation: Customers must confirm their authority to proceed, particularly in cases involving joint accounts.
18. Transition Restrictions: Agents explain limitations related to transitioning from Non-Smart to Smart products.

6. Liability Disclaimer

Deadly Deals Energy acts solely as an intermediary to assist customers in finding energy providers and does not provide the actual energy services. Therefore, Deadly Deals Energy shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by or resulting from agreements or contracts between customers and energy providers. Deadly Deals Energy is not responsible for the actions, omissions, or failures of any energy suppliers, nor for any issues arising from the terms and performance of the contracts that customers enter into with these suppliers.

By using our services, customers acknowledge that Deadly Deals Energy provides information and comparison services “as-is” without any guarantees, warranties, or conditions, either expressed or implied, and that all final decisions regarding energy contracts are made by the customer at their own discretion.

7. Letter of Authority (L.O.A) – Terms & Conditions

The Customer hereby appoints Connacht Spectrum Ltd trading as Deadly Deals Energy to act as its representative in respect of any contracts for domestic and commercial energy/telecom supplies, current or future, between the Customer and any energy/telecom supplier.

a) Consent to Represent

By signing this Letter of Authority, the Customer authorises the Utility Broker to enter any contract, rate agreement with any electricity or gas supplier in the Republic of Ireland. Once signed, the authority granted will be binding on the Customer.The Customer will be contacted by the Utility Broker before any contract is signed to be made aware of the available rates, and must provide their explicit consent before proceeding.

b). Scope of Authority

The Utility Broker is authorized by the Customer to:

  • Obtain Customer Information from any Energy/Telecom Supplier.
  • Request offers or quotations from, or negotiate with, Energy/Telecom Suppliers.
  • Agree on any special terms and conditions for the provision of Energy/Telecom Supplies beyond an Energy/Telecom Supplier’s standard terms and conditions as deemed appropriate by the Utility Broker.
  • Communicate with the Energy/Telecom Supplier and monitor, manage, and administer the Customer’s account during the term of any contract, including receiving copy bills, half-hourly data, and any relevant billing data.
  • The Customer agrees that this Letter of Authority (LOA) has a legally superior position, overriding any previous LOAs signed by a customer with any other entities, and grants Connacht Spectrum Ltd trading as Deadly Deals Energy the sole authority to govern the scope of authority outlined herein. At the same time, the Customer grants Connacht Spectrum Ltd trading as Deadly Deals Energy a power of attorney to sign LOAs with other parties on its behalf if this is necessary to fulfill the obligations described in section b (Scope of Authority). Under the same power of attorney, the Customer also grants Connacht Spectrum Ltd trading as Deadly Deals Energy the power to withdraw the Customer’s consent expressed through any relevant LOAs signed by a customer or by Connacht Spectrum Ltd trading as Deadly Deals Energy in the Customer’s name at any given time. Signing an LOA with any other party under the power of attorney granted by the Customer does not revoke the superior authority of the LOA signed between the Customer and Connacht Spectrum Ltd trading as Deadly Deals Energy.

c) Customer Information and Personal Data

The Customer agrees that the Utility Broker and any Energy/Telecom Supplier may disclose Customer Information to each other. The Utility Broker will only process personal data for the purposes set out in this Letter of Authority and in accordance with all applicable laws. The Customer acknowledges that the Utility Broker is the data processor concerning its appointment to act on behalf of the Customer and in respect of this Letter of Authority, while the Energy/Telecom Supplier is the data controller. This authority can be revoked, in which case the Utility Broker is no longer authorized to share data with the Energy/Telecom Supplier.

d). GDPR Data Processing Policy

The Utility Broker is committed to processing personal data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Utility Broker will:

  • Ensure that personal data is processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently.
  • Collect personal data only for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes.
  • Ensure that personal data is adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which it is processed.
  • Keep personal data accurate and up to date.
  • Retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it is processed.
  • Implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage.
  • Facilitate the exercise of data subject rights as set out in the GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability.

e) Law and Jurisdiction

This Letter of Authority will be governed by and construed in accordance with Irish law. The Irish courts will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with it.

f) Definitions

Customer Representative: [Name of Person signing Letter on customer’s behalf and Job Title/Position]

Customer Information: All information related to the provision of Energy/Telecom Supplies to the Customer including, but not limited to, existing contract terms and conditions, rates, consumption, invoices, bills, quotations, payment, debt, supply points, meters, half-hourly data, all historic associated with any of the foregoing, and all Customer account information.

Utility Broker Registered Address: Connacht Spectrum Ltd trading as Deadly Deals Energy, Baurisheen, Oughterard, H91YN93, Co Galway

Energy/Telecoms Supplier(s): Any provider(s) of Energy/Telecoms supplies of gas and/or electricity and/or telecoms. Deadly Deals Energy meaning a trading name of Connacht Spectrum Ltd.

g) Contract Term

The Utility Broker’s authority starts on the Effective Date and continues for one (1) calendar year or for the length of the utility contract. If the Customer revokes the Utility Broker’s authority at any time, any contract already concluded with an Energy/Telecoms Supplier will continue to have full force and effect.

h) Mutual Obligations

This Letter of Authority is entered into by the parties in consideration of the mutual obligations and promises set out herein and revokes all previous LOAs given with immediate effect.
